About Me

I am both proud to be a North Carolina Licensed Inspector, and a product of the North Carolina High Country. I grew up in Boone; where Hardin Park, Watauga High School, and Appalachian State University all helped to give me a quality education. After college, I worked for many years in the process control industry, before deciding to become a home inspector. I worked all over the southeast United States, learning process control, supervising and implementing high tech devices to manufacture products that ranged from extremely dangerous chemicals, to oil, soda, and even chips. Working with Fortune 500 companies helped to broaden my knowledge of proper operating procedure, many of which I've been able to make use of each and every time I perform an inspection. As a professional, I look forward to serving my clients in making informed decisions concerning what might be the most important purchase they will ever make.
Over the years, I have built two homes; one in Charlotte, and the other around Lake Norman. My current home is in Boone, where I live in a home that I purchased 17 years ago. It is the fourth house I have owned, and I live with my wife of 30 years, Sharalea. My son, Trevor, works with me on occasion, and otherwise manages the back end of my website; and is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in Applied Physics. My daughter, Kayla, also works with me on occasion, and is attending both North Carolina State University, and The University of Asheville, and is studying Mechatronics. We are kept company by our pets: Tiberius (Ty) a seven year old very Great Dane, and Lily, our two year old Great Dane. Personally, I must say I have a passion for all things High Country; I enjoy fly fishing, skiing, kayaking, and making hand carved wooden bowls, and furniture, when I can find a free moment. As I've lived in Boone most my life, feel free to ask me any questions about North Carolina, or the high country in general, and I look forward to doing business with you!
